You may need to submit a request to Capture One for this (upper-right corner of the page), but I'll try:

First, did you try running CO21 with the new SSD? It should have worked. The license is for a computer and shouldn't care about what disk(s) it's using. I routinely use C1 with a number of disks (volumes) on any licensed machine.

If it had a problem and you're certain it's licensing, you can sign into your Capture One account, deactivate the computer, and then reactivate in the usual way.

How did you change drives? For example, did you clone your HDD to the new SSD to get the SSD working? Or did you start with a fresh OS install on the SSD and then use Migration Assistant or another tool to copy your data to the SSD?

Also, I wonder about that "1 computer" license. I thought that both perpetual and subscription licenses are for 2 concurrent activations (i.e. 2 machines).

I think the free Express version is for one seat only.

I also recommend to try this:

Two years ago I replaced my Mac's internal 1TB HDD with an 4TB SSD. I transferred the contents of my old HDD onto the new SSD from my bootable SuperDuper created clone back-up HDD. No problems in using CO from the SSD or any other of my licensed apps.
