Import renaming timestamp plus sequence

Thanks for your answer, I actually saw this one, but I am looking for a way to put the information into the name of the picture. If I can't do that, it will be laborious to look through my pictures.

Besides that, when I look it up in this section, I don't see a difference between the pictures, sequence ID and sequence info are both "--" and I don't know why... Is it my fault?

It may depend on whether one is using a Phase One Camera with the Sequence Number recorded or not. I don't think the Sequence field is active for any other camera models not mentioned in the article.

Subseconds are not recorded (or at least not available) so I think the only thing you have that might provide a sequence is the file name number combined with the date and time.

I see, now I understand what C1 is doing! I think then the combination you mentioned, is the way to go for me whether I like it or not😆

    Thank you!

Yes, I cannot think of another approach at the moment. Or, at least, nothing that makes sense!

I had a situation a few months ago where I decided I wanted to group some time-related shots from 2 cameras that had not been time and date checked for a long time and were several minutes plus a few seconds out of synchronization.

I would have to look at them again to see exactly what I did but from memory it was something related to the file name and date and time with the file name mainly being used to ID the camera and therefore the files that needed to be adjusted to get the order aligned. I only needed the minute adjustment for most of several hundred files. From memory, there were only about 10 files where the seconds part of the number needed adjustment to get the files in the correct event sequence.

There may be some other approach available but it might rely on the order of processing the images and I suspect that such an idea may not be entirely consistent if the images are, upon import, processed in parallel in order to speed up the total process time. If working from a pre-existing file name base the order would be maintained  (Unless the camera's counter resets at some point.) If using the time stamp there may be situations where an image taken in the same second might be "written" before and earlier image taken in the same second and so appear out of sequence.

In any event, a re-import, if required for some reason, would need to be managed carefully!

Similar comments might apply to batch renaming.
