Is there a possibility to view the previous image and the current image "stacked" on top of each other, with the opacity of the current image lowered?

It is not possible to overlay any image with another image in C1 (with the exception of the HDR function which is not what you can utilize for your use case I assume).

You can see two or more images side by side in the viewer though, or you switch between the current and the previous image quickly in the viewer with the arrow buttons.

Yes there is a function specifically built into capture one for overlaying the previous image. If you open the camera tab near the bottom above Capture Pilot you will see an Overlay box. You can drag the image you want to superimpose into the “drop image here” box found within the Overlay section and you will have this exact functionality.

If you can’t find or don’t have this overlay box the. Right click where you would like it then go to Add Tool > Overlay
