A fast search/filtering option
The current search/filtering function is very slow. I'm don't know where the problem is, if it's the catalogue format or it's something else, but the number of posts about slow catalogue performance should be sufficient indication that there is a problem.
When searching for an image using the image file name, it currently takes Capture One about 7.5 seconds to bring up the result, during which time it becomes unresponsive. This is with a catalogue containing 44.5k images/variants. Lightroom Classic (11.2) performs the same search in less than a second, and doesn't become unresponsive (with a catalogue containing close to 48k images/variants). (Both on a MacBook Pro 16, M1 Max 64GB.)
If you need to find a couple of images, the waiting time probably isn't going to be a problem, but finding a larger number of images by their file names will be unnecessarily time consuming. If something could be done about this issue it would be a great improvement.
. . .
An additional catalogue related comparison. When synchronizing a folder in order to import newly added images, Lightroom's synchronization pane shows the number of images to be imported instantaneously whereas Capture One, with a folder containing around 600 images, takes almost half a minute to calculate how many images have been added, and once you select Sync, it goes through all the images in the folder again (presumably they were all checked once when the number of images to be imported was determined).
