move image folder off my computer
My image folder is getting too big on my main computer & I want to move it to a large flash drive & use that when i edit images. Do I just cut & paste the folder to the new drive? What about session folders & the trash folder? Sorry if this is obvious but I don't want to create problems with C-1. Thanks.

I'm not sure whether you are working with sessions or catalogs. Either way, the golden rule is to use Capture One to move the files. Do a system backup first, in case of something going wrong. Then use the Library tool I Capture One to drag and drop the folders you want to move to the new location. If you are using a catalog, you will need to add the target folder to your catalog first. The reason for moving the folders using Capture One, rather than using your OS, is that this way, Capture One will keep track of where the images are and keep them connected with the edits you have made to them.
When you say a large flash drive, what do you mean? A fast USB-connected hard drive or SSD is likely to be OK. A large thumb drive is unlikely to be fast enough to make editing a good experience.

Thanks Ian. I use sessions & a lot of session favorites. I guess favorites wd need to be moved one by one. I didn't realize editing would then take place in the flash drive, I thought the image would be imported into C-1, so good reminder about getting an SSD.
