C1-22-15.20 Layers with brush and linear masks disappear

After new update to V22 on WIN10: When I work with masks, the result of the mask will stay for 1 or 2seconds, than it disappears. If I deactivate an re-activate the mask in the layers-window, the result of the mask will shortly be shown, but again it disappears. Its a problem with all kinds of layers/masks, even clone- and repair-layers.

Any ideas which settings are wrong?

  Strange behaviour! After restarting and closing v22 and continuing working with v20 I tried it again, working with v22. Suddenly it works, layers continue showing their effects. But sometimes pretty slow.

  Does it Only Display Mask When Drawing is On? (it located in small drop-down menu under Brush tool icon)
