Better usage indicator for background tasks (no pop up)

Hi, 

I would love to see a progress bar that is not a pop up for longer operations that run in the background. 

Eg. for imports and exports currently a popup appears show the progress while blocking parts of my editing space. Instead, there could be a progress bar close to the zoom indicator. Clicking on that indicator could still show the pop up currently implemented. 

In other words, I am locking for some similar behaviour like in IntelliJ. Here is a link to the their style guide https://jetbrains.design/intellij/controls/progress_indicators/#main-window that illustrates the two behaviours I described above.
