Losing all edits from a session
|
Gareth Jones May 4, 2022, 15:51 GMT+2 Hi, I have had something very odd happen. I created a session consisting of a single photo shoot of about 500 images. I rated, renamed and edited the shoot and exported my favourite 140images. When I now open that session no edits are there at all. I can see some of the exported edited and renamed files in the output folder but the capture folder just shows the original unedited images with no ratings or renamed files. I can also see the .cos files in the Capture One's settings folder and they have the correct names. But when i open the session it's as if I've not worked on the images at all. I haven't moved any images from their original locations either. I have never seen this happen before and it is very concerning. Have I missed something, is this something you've heard of happening before? I've tried regenerating thumbnails with no luck. |

Sorry if this is a silly question - you don't have the before/after tool set to before, do you?

Hi Ian, I checked and I don't have before after toggled. I don't know that the before/after tool resets ratings and filenames, but it's definitely not switched to before. I keep wondering if it's something simple but do far no luck. Capture One support is so slow as to almost be useless for professionals. Begrudgingly I think I'll have to switch back to lightroom, I prefer the capture software but Adobe support is near instant.

If you have multiple versions of Capture One installed, make sure you open the most recent version of Capture One. You might have a default setting that opens the session file in a previous version - if you open by clicking the session file instead of the application.
If this is the case you won't see the adjustments applied in a never version.
The most recent version is 15.2.0
