Network Discovery Issue

Has anyone had problems with network discovery recently? I’ve run into this twice in the last 2 weeks in 2 separate studios and wonder if a recent update introduced some weird bug. iPad and laptop won’t see each other on the same network, but the devices can still ping each other using terminal etc. Oddly, when I use a phone hotspot it works. Manually entering IP and port number doesn’t work. Testing different machines and iPads, rebooting, etc didn’t work. I assumed IT was blocking device connections but it was an issue that came up on the second day of a shoot where everything worked fine on the first day on the same network. Sorry if this is a bit rambling but curious if anyone has seen a similar issue and found a solution or workaround. Cheers.
