Settings for Crop Tool not persistent since update much worse then before
Since the last update to Capture One Pro 22.15.3.0.100 the crop tool starts always with the "original" aspect ratio instead of the settings the user has set before. There is no possibility to set a default setting like in other tools. So I have to change this setting for every image I want to crop. This is very time consuming and annoying. Copy the crop setting "unconstrained" to all images is no solution because it is not possible any more to begin the corp freely inside the picture around the area that I want. Before the update I could in one movement pull the selection frame around the target area inside the image. When I can't trust the helpfulness of updates I rather don't want any.

I may be misunderstanding the issue, but isn't the crop tool the same as it always was if you choose the Global option?

Ian,
I know I'm 5 months out from your comment above but I have CO 23 and regardless of which setting I choose in settings THE TOOL ALWAYS SHOWS "ORIGINAL"
This seems to be a bug and it's very annoying. I just saw David Grover's video from May 4, 2023 in which he mentions the crop tool can be set to initially show "original" but it does not work for me.

I would expect that if you change the setting in Preferences to Global Aspect ratio, and you are on an image using the "original" crop setting you will see "original" on every image you move to. But as soon as you change an image to something else, such as "unconstrained" or "2x3" then the crop tool will be on "unconstrained" or "2x3" as you move from image to image.
If on the other hand you choose the Variant option in Preferences, then as you do the same thing, when you change an image to "unconstrained" that setting will not stick when you move to a different image.
