Importing EIP to Catalog unpacked

I started a few weeks ago with a few years of work EIP's and made a catalog to prune out the Tiff's and PNG's. All is well until I import more EIP's and they all show up as CR2's. I have written to Capture One but nine days later no response. I've tried a number of methods including coping the files to the NAS then importing and leaving the originals in place and the file types are changes from .EIP to .CR2 in the catalog. Not sure how to proceed. Any thought's?
