crash on import to session PC win11

I have been using session for most of my work. When the crash started to happen, I had used the catalog to edit a raw photo (NEF) that morning. I migrated the catalog to 15.3.0 and successfully was able to edit and export that photo. Later on that day I needed to do my regular work in a session and the crash happened whether I used 1 file or ten or on a local drive (D:) or (L:) - Removing and reinstalling C1 Pro to 15.3.1 didn't change it. Using a different install file path showed no change. PC has been rebooted numerous times with no change. The only other change that might be associated with the problem is that my PC was updated the previous day July 12, 2022 - KB5015814 (OS build 22000.795)

I was able to do my job using the Catalog approach

You'll be waiting a long time - Phase One (the company) has had nothing to do with Capture One (the software) since 2020.
