Feature Request for Ricoh GR IIIx Raw Files
Dear CaptureOne team, please sort this out, or at least tell us this is in your pipeline. It's been a year since the camera release, we would appreciate a proper support of the raw files. See the comparison, it's pretty bad, wouldn't you agree?
Thanks

What's the problem? Capture One is not going to render RAW files like other converters, and to my eye the Capture One rendition is fine, just different.

No.

Thanks for your comment, Keith. Do you work for Capture One?

Hi James!
I agree with you. The GR3x raw is not well handled. Nevertheless I found a solution to improve the quality a bit. You have to set the noise reduction to zero. This improves the rendering a little.
Indeed, one year later we are still waiting for the camera profile.

Just want to add my support request for the GRIIIx.
Benoit is right in that the noise profile messes up the images badly. Likely due to it not being profiled or supported yet. Turning luminance and color noise to 0 helps but obviously if you shoot high iso this isnt good either.
The GRIIIx is basically exactly the same as the GRIII but with a 40mm lens so should be straight forward for capture one devs to copy the settings for the GRIII as a stop gap.
The lens profile is less important as can be worked round with a manual lens profile.
Thanks

Thanks Benoît and dobs.
Good to know there is a workaround but like dobs said, high ISO image rendering is bad. That's exactly what I encountered as well. I'm considering doing a control test to see at what point this issue occurs since I have a mixed result.
Again I agree, I don't think it's acceptable for such a long delay. For whatever reason the development is not in the pipeline and it needs to be in.
It is also frustrating that Capture One hasn't responded to this as I'm not the first one to raise this issue.0 -
+1
The delay is stunning, don't know what's up with their product management if they drop the ball like this.2 -
Thanks Sam.
I'm hoping more of us voice our frustration and dissatisfaction will accelerate their process.
It's a wonderful camera and loved by many street photographers. I have switched from Capture One Sony to Capture One Pro and this issue is really causing a lot of frustrations.0 -

here is a comparison: rating 2 stars imported normally (left). The other, imported as "fake GR3" after the Exif data was adjusted as described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b5RXnsCwmU
