Capture One Catalogs Overviewer - a "Finder window" just for CO Catalogs
We have different ways to organise or photos but after a wile you have many Catalogs.
Then you have a moment you want to find just that photos you toke 5 years ago and not remember what Catalog it was in.
Missing a way to Overviewer, search, all catalogs.
I would love to have something like this.
Capture One Catalogs Overviewer (look mockup PNG sorry its from the swedish version)
Where you can chose in the same way as in "Finer" what CO columns you want to show.
Chose what metadata you search for. Etc.

I want to go further than Jonas. Whenever there is a need to search across Capture One assets - whether it be Sessions of Catalogues - the solution is always to import them into a "master catalogue". This is NOT a useful solution. It just creates more detritus on my storage. I don't want new thumbnails, new structures. I just want something simple:
I'm going to call it a Capture One Workspace. It is created by pointing Capture One at the top level of some existing set of directories and say "Create Workspace". Those directories could contain Sessions, Catalogues - either managed or referenced.
All that Capture One would do in that new Workspace is to create a lightweight index of meta-data, keywords, star ratings, colour tags. This lightweight searchable index would utilise the _existing_ thumbnails from sessions/catalogues. Its only purpose would be to allow complex searching, including boolean, and to load the _existing_ thumbnails and open the _existing_ Capture One Session or Catalogue if requested.
The only extra overhead would be Capture One's automated maintenance and storage of the lightweight index which must be stored _within_ the workspace for portability. The end-user could go on taking photographs instead of importing to new structures and buying new storage.
Simple, lightweight, effective.
