I fouled-up my 2022 catalog and I am trying to recover before I start into 2023.
Here is a screen shot of my 2022 catalog. My goal is to get the 64 images in 22-12-31 into a folder that I identified as 22-12-31a. I used 22-12-31a for this folder in order to avoid a conflict with 22-12-31. My problem started yesterday when C1 froze in the middle of the import and I inadvertently deleted my 2022 catalog when I restarted C1. Using Restore Catalog I was able to recover the catalog but now I am unable to load my new images into 2022

The 64 images on you Mac HDD are alreay in the catalog (referenced) so I don't understand why you import them again, instead you should be able to just drag & drop them (using the C1 library tool, not the Finder).
Apart from that I think you need to be a bit more detailed, "now I am unable to load my new images into 2022" is a bit too vague at least for me.

Thank you, "Drag & Drop" worked.
There is only 1 remaining problem. Instead of a single folder, the move resulted in a parent folder and a sub-folder. While I can live with that, I am wondering if it is possible to collapse the two folders into a single folder?

Hi.
Select the images in the sub folder in the browser and drag them to the parent folder. Then delete/remove the sub folder from catalog / disk.
