.comask Files Suddenly Gone

Hi y'all,

I finished editing 1425 images- only to get an error. C1 doesn't recognize any preexisting layers, so it only does adjustments made to the Background. The layer I'd made all my adjustments on is still in the Layers menu, but doesn't turn red when hitting the "m" key.

This started after I batch un-pasted sharpening (after C1 pasted it without Luma Range adjustment...separate bug?...) and now see nearly all my images don't have .comask files. Is there a way to regenerate .comask files based off what is currently set to the images?

-tried reinstalling 16.0.2.21
