C1 16.1.1.16 Mac 13.2.1 tethering issues

since updating to the latest version, I am having serious issues with tethering my fuji gfx100s. camera keeps locking up, I constantly have to pull the cable, take battery out. this never happened before, tethering was rock solid.

funny thing is that it still is super solid with the iPad version. 

I also have to manually advance to the next capture (which is really annoying and embarrassing) no matter which setting I choose under the camera setting, it does not advance. settings from last exposure carry over. I already contacted tech support about it but no response.
