Just a data point. I am getting instant response on a Sony A7r-iv file adjustments, luma mask etc. Do you have a GPU in your system? I am using an AMD system with a Nvidia 2070 with Studio Drivers.

I am not sure exactly to what you are referring but if you click on the 3 dots at the right hand side of the Basic Colour Editor tab you get the old pie chart representation of the colours.
