The above issue has been fixed in the latest 22.1 release. Eventually, support got back to me and asked for a video and CO1 logs, and acknowledged this issue as a bug. Kudos to support fixing this ...

Thanks for opening a support case! It's not a major issue, but it tends to get worse, and may end up in 6-8 image strings opening all the time. It gives the software a very amateuristic appearance.
