I would try using a powered usb hub and maybe an active usb cable. What about the "app nap" in 10.9? Otherwise, revert to capture 1 ver.6 if you have clients on-set.

Does C1 8 see the files on import?Maybe he's using Pentax software for tethering and C1 8 has a watch folder?..

deleting the plist did not work, selecting "Capture Folder" worked.

I take it back. there are artifacts all over the processed jpegs. bummer. Too good to be true.

It sounds like you had a sub-par tethering set-up. I.e poor cables, no usb powered hub, no tether lock on camera, under 1/2 charged camera battery, etc. All that stuff makes a difference.

using mac system 10.6.8 , 2011 imac , C1 Pro 6.2.1 , Canon 5d mark II tethered , ipad connected to server i created through system prefs. internet sharing, I received the error "Assertion Failed"....

Thanks for the info.I ended up using a Tethertools 15' usb 3 cable to camera and connected to a iogear 15' active usb 2 cable connected to a powered usb hub, into an imac. In Capture 6.4.5 it worke...

The new mac pro, d700 gpu's with acceleration on auto for processing is not compatible for me. Processed jpegs have random black squares on them.

Glad to hear that worked! BTW the problem session that kept crashing in 10.6.8 contained Canon 5D Mark III files.
