Are you sure you didn't simply delete it from a user collection? In that case it's still in your catalog: look inside "All Images" to find it.

Capture One is not officially compatible with the latest macOS (Mojave) yet.

Sounds like you moved your pictures from the Windows file explorer. You should have moved them from within Capture One, using the Folders tool.
