I finally realized that this is happening to all my images that were part of my imported Lightroom catalogue. Most of the files are DNG, as I used to convert all my NEF files to DNG.

Moved all the files from the catalog to a session and the DOS file names were changed to match the CO file names.Very odd behavior.
