Hi, don't have a J5 and only tried it with a Nikon Df NEF. I could as well open the 8 bit Tiff and the 16 bit Tiff created in Nikon Capture NX-D. Sorry, no idea.

Hi, have just tried different NEF files from several Nikon SLR and they all could be imported into C1 8 in their original "virgin" version without any problems. I'm on a Mac with 10.9.5.
