It works fine for me. I'm not a beta tester. I didn't purchase the upgrade until I had tested the 30 day free trial to death. Chumps will be chumps.

Click the lttle down pointing arrow to the top right of the tool you want to use. Make sure that Adjust Selected Layer is selected.

You can set the default rendering engine in the preferences. Not sure why yours is defaulting to a previous version though, mine stated using 7 from installation.
