Ian, I think existing Vignette Tool can be replaced with better version. Controls can be borrowed from Radial Mask along with priority option flexibility to choose center point etc..

No option to access Luminance, R/G/B histograms individually. You can find those tabs in Curve Tool

SFA - Think "Color Range" tool is same as "Luma Range" but on Color instead Luminosity to refine the Mask Dynamically.

As color based refinements are not dynamic Color range will bring infinite amount of possibilities when both Luma and Color Range tools... Final mask can be based on Luminosity + Hue + Saturation ...
