QUESTION
I have purchased the license for Capture One Pro, but Capture One still runs in a trial mode. How do I fix that?
I want to switch from Capture One Fujifilm to Capture One Pro, how do I do this?
NOTE: As all product variants are embedded in a single download file, there is no need to download Capture One once again if you need to switch to a different product variant.
ANSWER
IMPORTANT: Since April of 2022, we stopped offering versions of Capture One that are limited to supporting only one camera brand (for Sony/Nikon/Fujifilm).
All existing versions of Capture One will continue to work as they are.
Consider that Capture One can be activated and used in the following modes:
- Capture One Pro.
- Capture One Pro trial.
- Capture One for Phase One (formerly known as Capture One DB).
- Capture One Enterprise.
- Capture One Cultural Heritage.
- Fujifilm RAW Converter.
NOTE: Higher tier plans such as the All in One bundle and Capture One Studio also share the same installer file as the desktop application.

Switch to another activation mode
For latest versions such as Capture One 23 and Capture One 22
1. First, you have to deactivate the current Capture One license, either directly in the software or in the account on the Capture One website. Follow the steps outlined in this article - deactivate the software.
2. Re-launch Capture One and activate from scratch by following the steps in this guide.
For Capture One 12 and previous versions
Re-launch the software. You will be prompted to select your Capture One product and activate it.
Enter your Capture One License Key and e-mail address. This must be the e-mail address you used when purchasing the license. Then click Get Profile.
Verify your password associated with your Capture One profile. If everything is entered correctly, your profile information will be automatically filled in. Then click Activate.

Wow, pretty quiet community, when you download CO for the trial, was it a version that support for ALL RAW camera files? I noticed when i registered i selected sony, but when i installed the CO 30day trial it didnt really show me that it was a Sony version CO or not?
Hi Ken,
The trial provided on the website is for Capture One Pro supporting a range of cameras and RAW file formats.
Capture One (for Sony) has the same number of features and functions as the Pro product variant but only for Sony camera models and RAW files from those.
Hello,
I'm having issues with the Capture One For Nikon. The link to the Nikon version license does not give me a version for this variant. i
I understand that Capture One Pro 20 supports a wide range of cameras, but my Nikon NEF files do not show up in Capture One Pro 20.
Suggestions?
Hi Billy,
Thank you for your comment.
The download file of Capture One contains all product variants, you only need to insert the Capture One for Nikon license when activating the software. That license can be found on your account at captureone.com under the Manage licenses section.
If you are currently running Capture One Pro, please make sure that Nikon is selected under Providers in the Capture tab of the Preferences window (Capture One -> Preferences in the menu).
Also, verify if any global filters are enabled from the View menu.
If I purchased Capture One for Nikon but have completely changed systems to Fuji, can I get my licence key changed or do I now need to fork out again for a new licence?
Hi Keith,
Thank you for the comment.
We will provide you more details on that in the support request created out of this comment.
You will receive an e-mail shortly.
My Sony Subscription auto renewed the first week in December. Before then, I acquired a Fuji and Canon camera. I would like to use those camera files in Capture One. Is there a way to upgrade my subscription to Pro?
Hi Kevin,
Usually, the subscription is associated with a definite product variant and cannot be changed for another product variant.
I will convert your comment into the request so we will come up with more details in there.
IF I PURCHASE CAP 21 FOR NIKON WILL IT DO JPEGS FROM CELL PHONE?
IF I PURCHASE CAP 21 FOR NIKON CAN IT WHEN I RENEW BE UPGRADED TO PRO?
Hi,
1. Yes, you will be able to import JPEGs.
2. You will be able to upgrade from Nikon to Pro product variant in case you get a perpetual license.
Hello.
I am inquiring about the change of subscription products.
I have been subscribed to "Capture One Pro - Annual Subscription, Paid Monthly" since June 12, 2019, and today I wanted to change my subscription to "Capture One Nikon - Annual Subscription, Paid Monthly" because I only use Nikon camera.
So I deactivated my previous subscription and purchased the Nikon version of Capture One, but in this case, do I have to pay the two subscriptions in duplicate?
I want to cancel my previous subscription because paying double subscription fees is very damaging and inefficient to me.
Please solve this problem. Thank you.

Hi Lily,
I have a one-time license for Fuji (20) and am testing a Nikon camera and want to try the Nikon version of Capture One (20 or 21). How can I do this? How easy is it to revert to 20/Fuji if I don't end up going with Nikon, but still want Fuji 20?
Thanks, Barry
Hi Barry,
Thank you for the question.
You can try out the trial for Capture One Pro 21 where camera models from different brands are supported.
If you like it, you may upgrade your Capture One for Fujifilm license to the latest version either perpetual for Capture One 21 or for a subscription. In the latter case, you will always have access to the latest Capture One version even when new major upgrades come out.
The license upgrade options are available from here - https://www.captureone.com/en/account/upgrade
Hello Lily,
I recently acquired CO for Fuji and am now switching to Sony. Is it possible to change my license from Fuji to Sony? That would be really great. Many thanks for the support! Greetings from Germany, Manuel
Hi there, I have a Sony version of Capture one
I currently have a Sony camera and Nikon camera, is there a way to upgrade my Sony version of Capture one so I can edit my Nikon photos as well?
Same question as others. I purchased the Capture 21 single user license for Fuji earlier this year (2021) and want to change my license to Capture 21 Pro for other cameras. Please advise on the steps and cost to do so. Do I need to purchase a new license and if so is there some $ consideration for my prior purchase? Thank you.
