I have Capture One 20(13.x.x) and I want to activate it offline. How can I do that?
ANSWER
NOTE: These instructions are applicable for Capture One 10 up to version 20 (13.x.x). If you have Capture One 21 (14.x.x), please refer to this article.
NOTE: You cannot activate Capture One offline with a subscription license.
NOTE: Capture One trial and Capture One Express have to be activated online only.
Capture One Pro / for Fujifilm / (for Sony) / for Nikon users with computers that are permanently offline (e.g., incorporate or secure IT environments) can complete the activation offline. Note that the process still requires an internet-enabled device (e.g., a smartphone) to generate an activation key.
1. Launch Capture One. In the Activation dialog box, select Manual Activation. Type in your 16-character activation key in the License Code field.
2. Use another device that is connected to the internet. Go to www.captureone.com and log in to your account.
Enter your e-mail and password to access your profile on the website
3. Afterwards, select the Manage licenses section and click on Go to licenses.
4. Scroll to the bottom and navigate to the OFFLINE ACTIVATION section. Click the Activate Capture One Pro button.
5. Copy the 24-character registration key generated during Step 1.
6. Paste the 24-character code into the Registration Key field.
Enter the computer name in the Computer Name field.
NOTE: If you are trying to activate Capture One offline on the computer where it was already activated online/offline some time ago, please use its exact name (specified in the License Activation history).
Click the Generate Activation Key button.
7. A new 24-character key will be generated and visible in your browser.
Copy and insert it in the Activation Key field of the Capture One activation dialog box. Click Activate.
8. Your software is now ready for use.

Please advise how to activate C1 Pro when there is NO internet access for anybody in the vicinity? I ask as, despite having installed and activated C1 Pro, the other night I had to re-activate for some unknown reason. What happens if you are on a remote shoot? Not a good situation when you cannot trust the system controlling the software.

In case no computer or laptop has the internet access, you can also use the smartphone or tablet (with LTE, for instance) as the device with the internet connection for offline activation.
Hi Lily, Using a smartphone assumes that there actually IS mobile phone coverage - some of the remoter places do not have this luxury!

I try since yesterday to activateC1 Express for Fuji, but it is not working. During entering email address in the activation window the message "Server connection is not posibble" appears. I already deactivated the Firewall, OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. Do you have any idea how to get it activated?

Please, make sure that you use Online Activation to activate Capture One Express.
Also, there were some regular server maintenance procedures yesterday, so probably that could be the case.
If you are running Windows 7, I also recommend you to follow the steps in this article:
Windows 7 does not usually have the needed security protocols enabled by default that are required to establish secure channels and activate the software. Thus, this article will help to make a proper setup for that.
Hello, my account is deactivated and I cann´t activate online or offline. In both cases it tells me that there is an error.

Could you please tell which activation error you get.
Please, insert your license key in the activation window, then enter your e-mail which you use to enter the profile on captureone.com. Then enter your password. As you have a subscription plan, you can activate Capture One only online.
I can´t. when I put the license it is fine but when I put the email it tells me that it cannot connect to the server to find my profile. when I do it offline it tells me that the password that C1 gives me is incorrect.

Windows 10 - 64 bits. I still can´t activate it.
CaptureOne please note that people are saying the same thing, your registration is broken, mine is as well - It CANNOT connect to the server (the software says) Offline does not work too (key is wrong - and yes I did take the correct key to use. I have installed this software many times, but currently your servers seem to be broken
I pre-purchased Capture21 and tried to follow the instructions to Deactivate & Reactivate with my new licence key. I keep being told that I can't connect to the Licence Server. I am using Windows 7.

I just purchased CaptureOne 20 and I'm facing problems activating it.
The registration key that is appearing in the manual activation window is incorrect. When I put the same on the site in order to generate my activation key, it is said to be incorrect. I've tried multiple times but it isn't happening.

Users running Windows 7 may experience activation issues. As our security system uses the TSL 1.2 protocol, it is also necessary to enable it on the customer side. On Windows 7, it is not enabled by default, so it is necessary to enable it step-by-step as stated in the article.

You have a subscription plan, so it is not possible to activate the software with "manual activation".
You have to select "Online activation" upon the software launch and insert your license code there.
Then enter your e-mail and password that you use to enter your account at captureone.com.

since version 13.1 I had the same problem as Aleksander above, I need to enter manual activation keys on every start of capture one. It's the same with the new v14 that I just installed.
I deactivated my old activation in my profile. There is also a slight annoyance that you can provide a name of the computer you activate, but the list in the activation history still says Computer 1, 2 etc.
I read the FAQ you linked, it doesn't apply, no pc hardware has changed and I am on Windows 10 latest build.
Any advice?

Hi, I completely removed all old installations before. But I finally got it to work, I needed to complete the introduction screen, if I skipped directly to offline activation it would ask me again at every start. That seems like a little bug.
It seems login data lost somewhere.
Gerrit, same as you, i tried again and again to put offline info. But when i tried with "online registration" i don't need to re-register again.

Go to the Download section, scroll down below, and click on Download under the title "Download the previous version".
You will be forwarded to the page with the previous versions of Capture One.
There is no way I could activate this software.
1. The online activation process is broken for me because my computer failed to resolve hostname activation.phaseone.com. I tried so many ways to reset client dns but it just did not work.
from below command we can see the hostname can be resolved with nslookup which means there is no host file issue on my PC.
2. The manual activation process has changed (especially the registration key). It is like a random string for example: (...pXQA8sIcnemuAorNhXt6KYtlxeqUFVL2sBo8Jo/cWy+rpFKaw60DMzZy3TbrAD2jALQczN3qdO/w62WncK8qL9RUhphyOeRwPZwWGhY3x3vUKq3DegrUU/ptoAnHtunhrFEYXxr4+m2Tav2R7jyIHHiqd0Fr1hsMtGjj1O0dlfIprCxqP49IFHDlfPPHY9ZGZ1Ssnp2rLI...) now (instead of a UUID).
This registration key only gives me error.
I really don't understand why it is so difficult to activate a software. (the DNS part is my computer's fault but still...)
I'm so done with this buggy garbageware. Back to Lightrewm.
I can't activate the trial period, it gives an error...
