In Capture One Pro, we offer the Camera Tool and the Camera Settings Tool to facilitate tethering. The Camera Tool provides essential controls, while the Camera Settings Tool displays all the adjustable settings supported by the camera. Please note that the available camera settings are determined by the camera model and not Capture One Pro.
Verify whether tethering is supported with your specific camera model in the version of the software you are currently using. You can find a list of camera models supported by Capture One in this article: Camera models and RAW files supported by Capture One.
We recommend using Sessions for tethered shooting due to their enhanced flexibility and compatibility. You can learn more about Sessions in this article: SESSIONS.
To optimize your workflow, we suggest using the Next Capture Naming, Next Capture Location, and Next Capture Adjustments Tools. For instance, the "Copy from the Last" option in the Next Capture Adjustments Tool allows you to replicate the settings from the previous capture, ensuring a consistent look for your resulting images. These settings will be applied to all subsequent shots.

Connecting a Camera
Go to the Tether Tool Tab.
The Camera Tool displays useful information even when no camera is connected, including options to start an in-app tutorial and a link to a troubleshooting article.
When a supported camera is connected and powered up (check your camera’s documentation for transfer specifications), Capture One will immediately recognize the model and populate both the Camera Tool and the Camera Settings Tool with the relevant camera menus and settings.
When a camera is connected or disconnected, a sound will play. This can be disabled by going to Settings > Notifications.
On macOS, if a connected camera has a non-empty memory card, the Camera Tool will notify you if the connection is slowed down by macOS. This is a known macOS limitation related to Spotlight indexing that we can’t work around.
Press the Capture button located in the Camera Tool to take a photo.
The Capture button on your toolbar indicates whether a camera is connected or disconnected.
Camera Settings
From the Camera Settings Tool, select the desired camera settings from the appropriate drop-down menu or by using the +/- buttons. For example, ISO, exposure mode (Av/Tv/M or P), and File format. Note that the available camera settings are determined by the camera model and not Capture One Pro.
