Capture One Pro can detect the pressure applied when using any type of interactive stylus for a graphics tablet. The pen is usually pressure sensitive, and when Pen Pressure is turned on for the Brush tool, the more you press down on the nib, the wider the brush stroke and mask become. The mask gradually expands from the center of the brush tool outwards to the outer limit of the cursor ring, defined by the hardness slider. This feature includes both the nib and eraser.
When a stylus pen features a built-in eraser at the opposite end to the nib, the selection is typically pre-programmed and there is no need to select the Erase (E) option. If that is not the case, you can usually customize the stylus software and assign that and any side-buttons to Capture One’s shortcuts.
- Select the Brush by clicking on the Draw Mask icon in the Layers tool or from the Cursor toolbar.
- Right-click anywhere in the Viewer or click on the Brush Settings icon in the Layers tool.
- A Brush Settings window will appear.
- Now check-mark the Use Pen Pressure option box.

Looking at the forums, blogs, and other posts, it sure seems like people would like to know why setting the opacity with pen pressure isn't an option in Capture One.
For example:

This is a feature I often use in other programs like Blender and The Gimp.
Hello, I would also find it very useful if it were possible to use the pen pressure for hardness (and/or opacity). Maybe via Preference setting.
Thanks for considering it.
pen pressure is fanstic for photo editing in Capture One Pro, But which drawing tablet is better for a beginner, do you have any experience?
