I would love to see C1 for iPad! I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.

maybe with the changes Apple do to their machines in near future we can use C1 on iPad, Lightroom have now a version for this.

I tried Lightroom for a couple of months, and the only good thing about it is the ipad integration, this so needs to happen for C1

The ONLY way I will again upgrade C1 is for iPad support. If iOs support is not forthcoming, I’m frankly done with phase one and their efforts for good. I’ve used C1 since the first version which processed canon files, which was 2004 or 2005, i believe, but as great as its narrow advantages still are, it’s the end of the line if they don’t get a clue where the future lies.

Are there any plans to support iPad in the near future? With the introduction of apple silicon seems like a no brainer. Is the 30% apple takes from every app the reason?

Never a dull moment, eh?  Now that Apple is migrating to ARM processors for their computers, writing a version native to ARM processors could potentially have the added benefit of providing a version of Capture One for iPad.   In the meantime though the Intel version of Capture One should run successfully on Rosetta II, the emulator for ARM processors.

Apple has a new approach to emulation which is to do a one time conversion of the executable to run on ARM processors rather than use a real time emulator.  So it's feasible that Capture One, the Intel version, could run quite well on ARM processors after the conversion via Rosetta II.

Personally I'm not so eager to do serious editing on a tablet like iPad, but some people do love it.  Photographers that I know who do editing on iPad really only do that in the field; they prefer to use their computer for serious editing.  That may just be my crowd, though.

Capture One Pro on an iPad Pro would be very much appreciated.

What’s stoping on capture one making a software for the iPad Pro?

Capture One not being on the iPad is the missing magic sauce that Adobe mastered with Lightroom CC. There is a USB-C port and fantastic screen and Pencil for editing. It is a game changer when you can edit these files during a wedding and just leave a iPad out on a table with the current edited photos.

I just left adobe and was looking for a Lightroom alternative and was hopeful that capture one would fit the bill only to find out there is no iPad support. I am very surprised by this. I am unwilling to pay the very high price for software that does not support perhaps the most capable photo editing device, the iPad Pro.  I guess maybe I will be going back to Adobe with my tail between my legs.

Capture One for iPad would change everything. I like C1 a lot more than Lightroom but editing my Photos on the iPad is the only thing thats truly missing.

I could leave my MacBook at home when traveling. Just take my iPad with me, load off my images to it, make basic edits and at home I could finish on my MacBook.

Even better would it be if we'd have the choice where the images are stored, unlike Lightroom CC, we could choose our NAS, or cloud systems like iCloud, OneDrive, FTP, Owncloud etc.

I’ll change my iMac with an iPad and unfortunately I’ll migrate to Lightroom. :-(

I need to replace my aging Macbook Pro (2012) and I'd much rather move to an iPad Pro than a new Macbook.. C1 is the only thing holding me back.

I've been looking for Information on when c1 will be available on iPads - but found nothing... except for the information we already have: it is not possible at the moment.

Nevertheless, I am positive, that v21 will be available on iOS, as well as on BigSure. They simply cannot abandon Mac users in general (at least thats my hope :D)... and since the m1 is so similar in architecture to all the other iPad and iPhone Chips - I hope the step to releasing an iOS-Version of c1 won't be that huge and won't take forever...!

What are your thoughts on this? :-)

Use my iPad Pro with a magie keybord underneath. Happy combi and works well using Lightroom. Capture One Pro for desktop doesn’t work for me. Would make a difference C1 would be available on iPad. Thanks!

As others above have mentioned, C1 on an iPad would be glorious!  The hardware is certainly powerful enough and only getting better.  I am currently using Lightroom and the convenience of editing at home on a PC and out on the road on an iPad is just too convenient to ever give up.  Having said that, it would not be a hard decision to leave Adobe if this ever happened.

Now the new iPad Pro also uses the M1 chip; I guess it might be possible for C1 to migrating the macOS M1 version to iPad Pro M1

I agree with Ruoyu Li, the 12.9 iPad Pro 1 and 2 Tb have 16GB of  Ram…there should come a C1 iPad version as Lightroom has…

yeah after a year of capture one, im done, its great software, but not great enough (for me) for the expense when compared to Lightroom, which I get anyway as I need the adobe suite for work, and the total silence over the iPad version is the nail in the coffin

I was looking to switch from Lightroom to Capture one for Fuji. My MacBook Pro is slower and has less memory and space than my iPad Pro.
where do I buy capture one for iPad? Bloated photoshop and Lightroom can run, why not even a stripped down companion to capture one on iPad? Even a basic capture cloud tool with grading and rating capabilities. I would end my Adobe subscription for that...

Would love to run C1 on an iPad Pro now that it has M1. Any reason that it cant be done? iPad Pro has 2TB storage, AND a USB4/Thunderbolt port - imagine being able to use it to tether! Is there a reason that CaptureOne only has Pilot support and not full support, since its the same processor now?

We're incredibly excited for how we can continue to optimize Capture One for even greater performance, which will allow us to better serve image creators across platforms and devices." - Rafael Orta, Capture One CEO.

"devices" would the iPad pro 2021 be one of them?????????

Now that the "Core" of Capture One has been ported from OpenCL to Metal (MacOS currently)(with <unsure> if the Presentation mentioned "newest version" will use Metal for MacOS and OpenCL for Windows...) ...or if Windows is being ported to ALSO use Metal API...

Apparently, now that the MacOS on M1 version runs on the Metal API, I suppose the only thing is to adapt the newly re-written/adapted (from OpenCL to Metal API) Core of Capture One to an iOS/iPadOS "Personality" (for UI/UX)(with any OS-level "sugar") to run on iPad Pro M1?
