+1 for linux license. my strong work machine is linux based, I love C1 and need to run it on a 2015 mbp which is not nearly as strong. Would get that license today.

There is also Corel AfterShot Pro 3 for Linux. I had tested the trial version. Not bad, but no support for my Fujifilm camera. Capture One is the much better software and a Linux version would be guaranteed to get a lot of attention.

I had to buy Mac just for Capture One Pro due to my GFX cameras. I use Linux for everything else. I would love to dump Mac and get 100% into Linux if C1P releases the Linux version. They could select Ubuntu derivative systems as their target to release the first version.

I don’t think Capture One will be open source, but regardless, it could run well on an open source operating system.
Everyone should understand that teams that develop and operate high-performance systems have to be paid, as they too have to make a living from something.
If you don’t have someone’s money for it, settle for less comfortable but free photo editors. You can also find one for Linux. If someone learns to handle these (Gimp, RawTherapee) they can take images of similar quality as using PS, LR or CaptureOne. The difference is in manageability and support! That's why you have to pay, and believe me ... it's worth paying for the license !!! This will save you a lot of time!

Please provide C1 for linux, it would be immensely beneficial, and you'd break into a market adobe has refused to touch

Please release a native Linux version. Pro-photography is the only creative market that is completely under-serviced in Linux. Many of us only tolerate Windows and Mac machines because we are locked into inferior Adobe programs and evil subscription plans.

I would instantly buy a perpetual license for Capture One Pro if you released a Linux version!

If Capture One had a Linux version, I could move 100% to my Linux distro. I have a mac for one single reason, photo editing on Capture One, nothing else. One damn mac and 5 wonderful Linux computers.

  • Hi

The one feature that would sell me on an upgrade from version 12 would be a Linux release.

I agree with Andr: "Is Linux being considered at all? Do you have any plan for it?
This I would like to know."

I'd gladly pay for a Linux version!

I'd love to see Capture One on Linux - That said, I think a comprehensive photo editor would need to make the jump at the same time (eg Affinity) so that you could have your entire workflow within Linux.

    +1!

I would love Capture One running on my Ubuntu Studio box. Very much. So +1 for C1 on Linux.

The lack of a native Linux Capture One version is a huge deterrent and is keeping me from purchasing the software. While any native version would be appreciated, an open-sourcing of Capture One would be extra nice.

I love C1 but currently I'm using darktable (its a viable professional tool as of the last few version updates). It's getting the job done and it works in my preferred OS. Linux desktop is growing in popularity. This is a missed opportunity for the C1 team. Maybe one day they'll see that. There are people in the Linux community who are not against paying for good tools. With Apple and Microsoft leaning into more and more monitoring and privacy violations it's a good time to invest in Linux support.

I would definitely put down money for a C1 Linux license. Even if it had to be crowdsourced before production.

    No one likes Windows!

We keep it on our machines because of a professional software that works only on windows or mac machine.

I will buy immediately CaptureOne if it is available on Linux.

Now I am switching between Linux and Windows every time to edit some photos.

I moved away from Windows many years ago (I worked in IT and it made my work life a living hell) and never plan to go back and Apple products I have no interest in, even though I like the postix interface. To have photo editing software would be a godsend. I have to admit that one of the reasons I chose Fujifilm over other manufactures cameras was because of the in-camera processing. When you ever get Capture One for Linux let me know because I will be all in. Oh, I run Debian based distributions, if that matters, and I am currently running an older version of Ubuntu 64 bit and Raspbian (I don't think Raspberry Pi has the chops to do photo editing).
