How do I activate Capture One Express?

    Hi Mikhail,

    Please, try the following:

    • Make sure you are not using a VPN connection when activating Capture One. VPNs can also cause some confusion when trying to access the activation server. You should refrain from using VPNs when activating Capture One;

    • Investigate whether your firewall isn't blocking Capture One's request. Whitelist CaptureOne.exe from any firewall applications that might be blocking the connection;

    • Open a browser window, and go to activation.phaseone.com where you should see the following: "Activation service is alive". If the connection to the server fails, it will give a 404 or another error;

    • Uninstall and reinstall the application;

    • Check your hosts file;

    • If something is still blocking your connection, try renaming the file from Capture One 20.app to Capture One 20.1.app 

    If nothing from the above-mentioned options helped, try creating a new user on your workstation which won't have those restrictions.

    Thank you for the comment.

    The Express activation key can activate Capture One only on 1 workstation at a time. So if you have another computer where Capture One was activated with the same key, you will need to deactivate it there first to free up the activation seat.

    How to deactivate Capture One Express?

    If that is not the case, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.

    Menwhile I pressed "Reset All Activation", again once more.

    Thank you for your comment.

    Please note that there is a single download package for any Capture One product variant.

    Thus, you can use one product variant at a time.

    When you want to use Capture One Express for Fujifilm, just enter the activation key and other details in the Activation window. When you want to use Capture One Express for Nikon, just deactivate the license of Capture One Express for Fujifilm first (go to the main menu and navigate to Capture One -> License -> Deactivate on Mac or Help -> License -> Deactivate on Windows). The next time Capture One is launched, just enter the license key for Capture One Express for Nikon.

    No I don't have same Key activated on 2 computers.

    Pls read more carefully - I've ugraged Win10 to last official version on same PC whithout any HW changhes, so I suppose  C1 Activation or Security  system have a wonderful BUG.

    So I am pushed for smthng weird about it

    Please, make sure that you got a license key for Capture One Express for Fujifilm from here.

    Also, please enter the e-mail and password which you use for the account on the captureone.com website.

    Hi Vladimir,

    Please, note that you can use the Capture One Express license key only on 1 workstation.

    In case you want to use it on another computer, you have to deactivate the license on the first workstation (or from your account on the website) and then activate it on another computer.

    In october I've got Capture One  Express for Fuji, installed it and activated.

    Last time used it at the end of october, but later updated Win10 to latest release 20H2 . And from yesterdaty i got deactivated key twice! On same PC without any HW changhes.

    Deactivated, Reactivated for just one start and on next run CaptureOne says it's again invalid.

    Today, I reactivated it.  Open/Close few times, check "license" in menu (it shows that now I have activation as "Computer 1" LOL)  unbelievable .

    I tried different ways, but no result. It worked a month ago. No VPN, router reseted, no other changes. And no activation :(

    What am I doing wrong? o_O

    I am having the same issue with Capture One 20 for Nikon. I have added Capture One to my firewall and I have uninstalled and reinstalled, no luck. And I cannot hear anything from support. I just subscribed yesterday but I am frustrated already and ready to request a refund.

    I had to reinstall Windows on my computer including Capture One. Now at entering the license key I get the announcement that the key is activated on another device which isn´t true.

    Dear Capture One,

    I recently changed my hardware and want to use my capture one express fujifilm account on this new computer. 

    I downloaded capture one express through my account but it asks me for a licence key that I can't find anymore. I tried to access it through manage my licences and order history: you then asked me for my email address but I did not receive anything. 

    I dont intend to use capture one express on my old computer, I simply want to use it on the new one and access my catalog.

    Today, on same PC with same Win10 install, whithout any changhes i've got a message "Your license key is deativated" again. Only thing have changed is my hard drive, I've bought new SSD and cloned system to it(without reinstallation or Win License Key change) 

    No second PC, No other place with my key/account/install exists

    If it's a way to push me to buy Full version? I don't know, but, so,  i'am fed up and I'm definetely not going to spend my money on such buggy software activations

    Please, let me know which operation system you run. Is it Windows or macOS? Please, also specify which exact version of the OS you run (i.e. macOS 10.15.6 or Windows 10 build 2004, etc.).
