QUESTION
I want to use a second monitor to display the photo I am working on. Can I use two monitors while working with Capture One?
ANSWER
If you have a dual monitor setup, take advantage of that and optimize your workflow in Capture One. Use the second monitor to either display Viewer (for Mac and Windows computers) or Browser (only for Mac) depending on your preferences.
In the Capture One menu, go to Window -> Workspace -> Dual Monitor - Large Viewer/Large Browser to accomplish that. That way, the other monitor will be specifically dedicated to the Viewer/Browser.
Alternatively, you can follow the steps below.
- Select Window ->Viewer to create an extra Viewer (move the Viewer to a second monitor if necessary).
- Select View -> Viewer to toggle it off. The Viewer within the main user interface will disappear and the browser thumbnails will replace it.
- Move your cursor to the left side of the Viewer to access the default Tool Tabs (more Tool Tabs can be added. Add another Tool Tab in the Viewer by right-clicking on the Tool Tab bar and select Add Tool Tab -> Lens / Quick etc).
- Individual tools can also be moved to float freely. Simply click on the bar at the top of any tool, then drag and drop it to the desired position (in the example, the Camera tool was moved on top of the Viewer on the second monitor).
Consider that you can always customize your workspace by adding tools, hiding Browser, etc.
NOTE: Dual-monitor setup is not available in Capture One Express.

Hello!
May I ask why the large browser is not available on windows? That is an important feature and I'm not sure why it would be a mac only option.
Thanks!
Mike
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question.
Indeed, there is no option for Large Browser in the Dual Monitor mode on Windows currently, so I will forward your feature request to the Product Management team.
Hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

I just run into the same question why is there no large browser. Then I found this article and it did not work because I'm running a windows system.
Thanks for addressing this issue.

I just switched platforms from Mac to PC with Windows, and I am missing my dual monitor with large browser option as well. Please enable the dual monitor with large browser option in future updates please.
