I can't activate Capture One as I'm receiving an error that the remote name could not be resolved. How can I fix this and activate the software?
This error appears when you are trying to activate Capture One and the activation server cannot be reached. Typically this is due to:
- A firewall is blocking the communication to activation.phaseone.com from Capture One
- There is something re-routing the request to another address
Typically, disconnecting and reconnecting your internet connection will resolve it. Sometimes, it will require a full router reset; this will refresh the DNS used.
If that does not resolve it, please do the following:
On macOS, open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app)
On Windows, open the commandline (press Windows+R to open “Run” box. Type “cmd” and then click “OK”)
Copy and paste the following and then hit enter:
This will give you the IP address found for the activation server:
Note the address in parentheses.
Contact support (via the Submit Request button on the support page) and let the supporter know the address.
