With the release of Capture One 21 (14.3.0) Output tool tab has been removed and all export tools have been moved into the new Exporter.
There are two ways to access the Exporter:
-
In the top left of the Toolbar, click the Export icon.
-
Right-click the selected photo and click ‘Export > Export...’
It can be long pressed to access additional export options:
- Export - will open the Exporter.
- Export with previous settings - will export the selected photos using the selected export recipes and bypass the Export window. This is the same as pressing Cmd/Ctrl + D.
- Export Original Files - will open a dialog where you can make a copy of the original file without processing them.
- Edit With - will process a JPEG, TIFF, or PSD file as a new file and open it in the target application.
- Open With - will open the original file in the target application without processing it. This will not include any adjustments made to the photo.
- Publish - will publish using the chosen publish plug-in.

Export Recipes (Process Recipes in previous versions)
Starting from Capture One 21 (14.3.0) there are no Process Recipes and Process Recipe, now Capture One has only the Export Recipes tool, which includes all the built-in and custom recipes for exporting photos. You can select one or multiple recipes at the same time for exporting your photos into the formats and sizes you need. To create a new custom recipe, simply click the plus icon and give it a name. To add one of the built-in recipes (in case you accidentally removed one), long-press the plus icon and select it from the list.

Proofing Viewer
The Exporter has a proofing viewer that shows how the selected photo will be exported with the selected recipe. The proofing viewer shows format, scaling, quality, ICC profile, output sharpening, watermark, annotations and overlay.

Location tool (Existing Files)
As a new feature, you can decide what to do if there already exists an exported photo in the target destination. The options are as follows:
-
Add Suffix (default)- this will add “ 1” to the file name, creating a second file. This is the behavior of previous versions of Capture One.
-
Overwrite - this will overwrite the existing file, leaving only a single exported file per original.
-
Skip - this option will skip any photos that have already been exported to the destination.

Naming tool
The Exporter uses recipe-specific naming. For this reason, the Sub Name field and token have been removed. You can use free text as well as tokens in the Format field.

NOTE: The Batch Queue and Process History have been removed from the export settings.
The tokens Sub Name and Job Name have been also removed, as export location and naming are now recipe specific. You can use free text in the Format field.

Hi,
Why can't the Output tool tab exist next to the new exporter?
Now it opens a new window every time I want to export or use control-D for export without knowing exactly what settings I am using.
With the Output tooltab I just had to hit a single button for export with the settings at hand.
Or am I missing something?
Thanks,
Ruud
I'm with Ruud--the new export window in v14.3 is kludgy and poor interface design. The old output tab icon was located in a logical place and easy to access. I find the new window clutters the interface and adds an unnecessary layer of complexity.
Dreadful…… Can I move the export Recipes, Location etc to the right hand side.
The fact that you can't export multiple file types and sub folders to one parent output folder is one of the worst changes Phase has ever made. It makes delivering files to clients at least 3X longer and way more susceptible to human error. This makes running a fashion photo set so clunky and inefficient. Please make Capture One "PRO" again.....
Why get rid of the Batch Queue and Process History?! I've just exported 600 photos and two are missing. I don't know which two or why, so what's supposed to happen now? Redo all again, or check 600 images side by side to compare? Poor decisions by Phase here...
When I select by and try to export jpeg recipes, I get a non-descript error message "cannot export current selection" and nothing is exported
WOM - write-only memory???
