HDR: Queue/Batch the processing
Not currently plannedPROBLEM:
The HDR feature for architecture/real-estate jobs. It means, when I come back from the job, my cards contains at least 40 pictures over 120 RAWS (bracketing 0,+,-). Currently, for each pictures I have to:
- wait for the previous HDR merge is done
- select the 3 RAWs
- start the HDR merge
- wait again
It's painful slow and time consumming.
LAST TIME/WHEN:
Today. And a few times a week. Dependings of my currents jobs.
WORKAROUND:
I do not know any
WISH:
I would like to select all my HDR's ready pictures, and click on "detect HDR and Merge".
-> C1 would detect the pictures
-> Merge everything
-> Error should be mentioned in the Event Log
HAPPY TO BE CONTACTED:
Yes.
Last note: the HDR and Panorama features do NOT use my GPU. Leaving a task typtaclly GPU-friendly for the CPU. The same Panorama ist at least 1000% faster using PTGui which take advantage of the GPU.
Tested in a Windows 10 i7 RTX Laptop and on a Windows 11 i7-1260P desktop

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the suggestion - this is not something we are currently working on.This does not mean this is a bad suggestion or that it will never be adressed, but in an effort of transparency we want you to know that we are not currently allocating resources to solving this issue.
We will revisit the status of this thread if and when it changes.

I just made an AutoHotKey script to do this but I have to be really careful with it. I do this every day.

Hello!! same problem, I'm wasting a lot of time doing Real Estate photography. It would be perfect if we could merge all the pictures in the folder...

I use HDR in C1. I am very happy with this function.
I am very frustrating that the HDR function doesn't work in batch .
Because I do mainly real estate shooting, and each shooting inlude around 300 pix took in bracketting mode for HDR merge. It is very tedious to manually select each group of bracketed photos to merge them in HDR.
It will be great , if you add this new capibility to HDR, and it will open new perpective for C1.

Hi Pascal!
Yes. Same here.
By the way, does this function use the hardware acceleration (OpenCL) on your system ?
Regards2 -
Hi Nicolas,
I fount it, Yes C1 use the hardware acceleration (auto mode for display and processing, and hw acceleration use mentionned )

It's not enough to check if it's enable in the settings.
To check that out, startle HDR precessing and check in the task manager if the GPU is really used.

You are right, GPU activity is flat during HDR processing (1 or 2% used, no more)
1 -
Yeah.. Report that to C1. I think they need to improve that.

Agreed, it is so painful when processing several files. Please add the possibility to queue at least the HDR to not force a person to wait between each process...

Hi Mathieu, thanks for letting us know the status
I really hope CaptureOne will change its mind about the HDR-feature. It has been quite a lot advertise on release, and it's great. However, it feels half-baked: no batch-able, not queue-able, and not using the GPU (so far).
To my mind, this should be improved.
Regards

Hi Mathieu,
Same request here.
This new feature will create new opportunities for C1 and not only for real estate photography.
for example Astronomy pix
It is not a big work to automatize the selection of bracketed pix, et perform HDR
The result could be flag and that's all.
Today, I do the selection manually, it is so time losted,
Sincerely , C1 could do the job , and it is what I am waiting for. Please keep us inform.
Kind regards,Pascal

@Pascal.
Yes. I spent one hour today to merde my HDRs manually... Whereas, with batch, I could have done something else.
Batch HDR would make my upgrade to upcoming version more likely.

This is a feature that really needs to be adressed, i hate to say it, Lightroom is way better in the HDR's also handle ghosting when there is a slight movement of a person or tree in it.

Yeah, I really love (and use lot!) the HDR function. However, it feels half-baked:
- no GPU-acceleration
- no batch
- no queue.
CaptureOne Pro Mathieu B Please finish the HDR and Panorama function in a free upgrade.

Same here, I have to merge all the real estate shots manually. HDR batch processing would be a huge time saver

Hello,
Same here. I waste a lot of time, whereas C1 could automatically group the bracketed photos in batches. Other software does this but does not achieve the same fusion quality.
C1 is exceptional software, it is true professional and quality software
Please listen to this request coming from the field. As a professional photographer, I take a lot of photos in real estate, decorator, architect. I have to use HDR fusion to manage exterior and interior brightness. Please improve your software with a little.3 -
@Pascal C: Vote up the thread.
I guess the one thing which will make C1 take care is the votes

I think creating the HDR option without adding queue processing. It does not make any sense. I think it is a great demand and this matter is not being paid attention to.
