Downgrade from Capture one pro 23 to 21
How can I downgrade a catalog from Capture one 23 pro back to 21?
I don´t have a backup from the former Capture one 21 catalog.
Now after testing the Capture one 23 pro Trial Version the catalog can´t be open again with Capture one 21.
Is there any suggestion? Thanks Dietmar

Work around idea. Have you had setting of XMP sync to full? In that case you can rebuild the catalog in 21. By creating a new catalog and reimport

If you had a catalog that was created with version 21, then Capture One will have created a backup for you when it upgraded it to version 23, whether or not you actively made a backup. You can go back to the backed up version 21 catalog. Instructions on restoring from a backup are here.
If you go to the catalog in Finder, you can right click it and choose Show Package Contents.
You should see something like this.
Capture One Catalog.cocatalogdb is the latest version of the catalog database. The ones saying backup are successive backups of it each time it was upgraded from an older version. The one with the highest number is the most recent.
Bear in mind that you will need to use Capture One 21 to open the restored backup, so you must either open that or re-download it an reinstall it.

Hi,
For a Windows user, is it possible to downgrade from a 16.4 catalog to 16.3? I have a license for 16.3 and I wanted to try if 16.4 is better. Unfortunately I didn't keep any back-up catalog with 16.3

If you upgraded the catalog from 16.4 to 16.3, then without you doing anything about it, Capture One would have automatically kept a backup of the 16.3 version of the catalog.
BUT updates of the software don't always require upgrading the catalog - I can't remember whether from 16.3 to 16.4 did or not. It will only have asked you to upgrade the catalog if it needed to, and it doesn't do it without asking first.
You could try opening the catalog with 16.3 - if it opens all is well. If it doesn't, then you do need to use a backup if there is one - and there probably is. Alternatively, maybe you have a system backup from which you could restore the older version of the catalog if needed. (Do you do regular system backups?)
