You should now find that your credentials stick for 7 days. Thanks for making us aware!

I second that! The old forum used to have a "remember me" check box.

I had to re-login to give this thread a thumbs up.  Ironic. ;-)

And, in case the reason it's this way is that the forums share the account login and they want the account login to time out quickly for security reasons, then it's possible for the one login to drop two cookies, one for the account that times out quickly and one for the forums which lasts for a week or more.  There's certainly no security reason in the forums to make the forums inconvenient to use by forcing re-login every time.

And of course, we now have even less opportunity to report poxy spam (like the post above this) since they removed the "Issues with the new forum" board.

But - hey - at least they value our feedback...

As someone who is trying to remain active in this forum, constantly have to log in is very irritating.

That's pretty annoying and not behavior I experience myself (probably admin user behavior) – I'm going to speak with the web team to see if we can re-enable or add a "stay signed in" checkbox. This is most likely an issue with the linkup between the main site and the forum.

Keith R Keith R (not sure which one it is, sorry!) When you say "they" it's actually just me and Denis Huk cleaning things up and trying to make information easier to log and keep track of, both from a user and organizational standpoint. If something has moved and you're not sure where it's moved to, or if you've lost something then let me know!

Many old topics were removed and new ones were created to make browsing through the forum a bit easier and more specific to newer versions and photography discussion in general. The community feedback topic has also been placed right at the top, so that people feel that they can easily leave feedback and so that it reminds me and the rest of the team what the important things are! (your experience and feedback)

Not to mention, we've also introduced two new topics that directly influence the development of Capture One. If you haven't already, please check out the new feature request topic and also the camera request topic.

Thanks for taking the time to write and I truly do value your (and everyone's) feedback.

I'm so glad someone is actually listening and endeavoring to see if this can be improved.  You are probably correct that the short duration of login is because that is the main site policy and you will probably not be able to change that because the main site offers the account access, billing stuff, etc....  What the forums need is a separate login cookie that can have a duration of weeks or months instead of hours.  If the site login then drops two cookies (one for forums and one for the main site), the forums can be configured to use the forum cookie and both main site and forums can be happy.

John Friend Actively looking into it with the web team and it's unfortunately not something I am directly in control of. It concerns me that this seems to be a common issue.

I'll pass your suggestion and cookies of wisdom on :) and I really hope we can add an option to stay signed in soon.

Christopher Dubea We changed a couple of things in the background to ensure that the credentials stick for longer. You shouldn't have to log in more than once in a 24 hour period now.

If you or anyone else is having this issue, please let us know which browser you are using, and/or any add-ons that could impact the functionality of the website.

I use Brave Browser on my personal devices and find that I have to disable the ad/pop-up/tracking blocker in order for certain things to load properly. Not just on this website but many others.

Christopher Dubea I didn't figure anything out, just speaking from my experience from using Brave.

I'm also not blaming them, it's something to consider with every browser.

I did also state that we actively changed a couple of things in the background, and I contacted the web team as soon as I left my previous comment. Have you experienced this behavior since we made the changes yesterday? If you have, have you tried with Brave shields down?

The issue isn't with the forum, it's with the main site. There's also no option to "stay logged in" when accessing your account from captureone.com – this isn't good and something we have to fix.

I'm sorry that your previous concerns were simply ignored. The forum and the way we do things in general have undergone some changes, with more presence from ourselves but with a continued emphasis on users helping each other. For a while, there was simply no presence from Capture One, and that's probably why your previous reports/requests were ignored.

I hope you feel that you can continue to provide us with feedback and contribute to the community in general. I'm always here to listen and respond when required.

Well, the recent change worked this morning.  I followed an email notification of activity in the forum.  Went to click on an Up arrow on a post to upvote it and it didn't require me to login.  Yeah.

Now, if we could just get the login time extended to at least a week in case I don't come back every day.  Note that other photography forum sites (essentially your competitors for our attention) easily maintains a login for a much longer duration.

Even the cookies from my bank don't expire that quickly...

That might be a bit of a stretch.  My bank login doesn't even last an hour and I'm fine with that since there is $$ risk associated with that.  There is no $$ risk to my forum login lasting 30 days (as do other forums I participate in).

Alright, good that the change to 24 hours worked. I'll try my very best to extend it and make the changes today.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. :)
