Using Color Balance to recover highlights works frighteningly well 🤷🏻♂️
Wondering whether anyone else has stumbled across this? Historically I've found when there are florescent lights, or even sun shining on a reflective surface there's really no chance of rescuing the highlights, but tonight I happened to be playing around with the Color Balance tool and discovered what's almost like a second highlight recovery tool. I've tried this on a few images and it's worked on every one. The weird part is when I try to push the highlights back out of gamut in C1 using the curves tool, it's almost like the highlights are sealed and protected; they won't budge. The same thing happens after opening the image in PS. I want to be clear, it doesn't recover detail, it just saves the file from clipping. I'm using a Phase One p65. Has anyone else had this experience? Cheers

Do you mean you are using this control in the Colour Balance tool?
