insane swap memory usage on import

Hi, I just wonder if somebody else got this problem.

I think this new fast import feature is almost useless if you don't have a 64GB of RAM. I always got this message "Your system has run out of application memory." while import.

Okay, I "only" have 16GB of RAM for my M1 MacBook Pro 14, but more than 120GB free swap memory. To import a folder with RAW images about 45GB it has taken almost the same for swap memory until it freezes. Even after force quit the system doesn't free up the memory and I need to restart my Mac.

I don’t know who to blame for this, C1, Apple, or both or just me not willing to pay Apple’s insane RAM prices…
