Just switched from LR. Looking for a "Pick/Tag" option

I just moved over LR (finally) and I am used to culling in Photomechanic and editing in LR, now in Capture 1. I am looking for a "pick/tag" option in C1. I like to make my first pass with pick and then further select from those with a rating and then a color. Is this an option in C1? I have looked all over and cant find it. Any suggestions?

  No. 
  Some features have not been implemented in C1 for years, even though many users have asked for them. This simple pick/unpick is such a thing.
  You have to use colortags/stars to select your photos - very cumbersome. 
  I do the culling entirely in Photomechanic
