Capture One and Phase One aren't doing well. Are they really willing to do better?
I'm heavily disappointed and I have no idea what happened to them. Seriously, their software is so unstable and not reliable with many bugs and issues as they aren't really dealing with. Literally, Capture One/Phase One is following Hasselblad's path: Recently, Hasselblad discontinued their main products, H series, and they kept having issues with their company. Long time ago, they were collaborating with Sony and others for stupid products such as Stella. Guess what happened? They were acquired by DJI and Hasselblad admitted their failure as they wasted a lot of money on something else. Capture One/Phase One aren't really different.

Recently, Phase One made a stupid camera call XC and there are a lot of disappointments from Phase One users as they did not update their DSLR series and sensors for a long time. How about Capture One? They are wasting their effort on iPad/iPhone version of Capture One pro instead of improving and fixing Capture One properly. Sound similar to Hasselblad, huh?
I am so pissed as they aren't even trying to fix issues and bugs, making mediocre features, wasting their time and money on something else, keep increasing the price, and more. I sent so many feedbacks and reports to Capture One for a long time and yet they only said we notified programmers and since then, nothing changed or fixed. Do you know that the crop moves whenever you use a keystone? That bug isn't fixed yet! I kept asking to add features for Session favorite for a while and they never listened! iPad/iPhone version of Capture One is seriously a joke and nobody asked for mediocre apps. Capture Live? Who even use it?
I seriously worried about Capture One/Phase One as they are doing horribly since 2023. I do feel that Capture One is not getting better improvements at all! As a professional, this is very disappointing and I'm not the only person complaining about Capture One as I network with many professional photographers and digitechs from many cities. Do you have any idea how many people hate Capture One's current situation? They were even had a petition about it by many digitechs. If this situation continues, Phase One will keep doing stupid stuffs and then follow how Hasselblad did,
As a professional Capture One user, I highly suggest them to work harder and try not to focus and waste their effort on meaningless features and cameras. Otherwise, they will keep doing stupid things no matter how we complain.

Capture One has been part of the Axel Group for several years. Maybe this explains a few things for you?
Hope this helps a little,

I can't comment on Phase One, but I agree with your thoughts on Capture One. While steadfastly ignoring the bugs in C1, and adding trivial "features" (which I assume are pitched at high volume, professional users), they ignore the AI-based advances being made in other software (which would appeal to enthusiast photographers such as me) - and then they bring out C1 for iOS!
Really??
I agree - C1 has lost the plot.
The move to effectively force users into renting their software has just been the final straw for me.

Kassur/ Being part of Axel has nothing to do with what Phase One and Capture One are facing.

Many people, including me, believe that the private equity owner of C1 is trying to squeeze every buck out of C1 and its customer base, and that has a lot to do with what Capture One is (or we are) facing.

BeO/ That just proves my point that Phase One/Capture One isn't doing well as they were wasting their time and money on meaningless stuffs and they are trying to do earn more money by all means necessary just like Hasselblad did.
Clearly, that doesn't change the fact that Phase One/Capture One are doing stupid things instead of improving and fixing their software after all and that also does NOT justify what Phase One and Capture One are doing. Am I suppose to understand their failures?

I cannot comment on Phase One but I can tell that I am highly disappointed by Capture One mainly for two reasons, quality (introduction of new bugs and missing willingness or capability to fix bugs) and policy changes for perpetual license customers.
And this fits perfectly in the assumed recent greed initiative of the investor, developing additional products to increase revenue instead of getting the main product right fits too.
Imo, they need to do both, i.e. take the extra money they squeeze out of us to actually invest in development and quality for the main product and develop new modules at least to catch up with competition.

I bought the latest ipad thinking that the workflow would be fun on location. What a deception, impossible to use the software, it freezes and stop by himself…
I don’t understand why there developping iphone and ipad apps that doesn’t work at all and don’t fixes the bug on the desktop version… at this time we can’t export a PSD file with perspective correction without bug, since capture one 13…1
