Images already selected on Import

Hi all,

 

I recently installed version 23 and I'm experiencing a small annoying issue... When I import into my Catalog from an SD card, the images I imported the previous time are already selected. More specifically this is what happens:

  1. I import from the SD card images "A" and "B"
  2. I go out and shoot some more
  3. I load the same SD card, which has not been formatted
  4. Images A and B are already selected for import even though I have the "Exclude Duplicates" flag selected

This cause an issue where in the "Recent Import" collections I have effectively duplicate pictures.

Anybody experiencing this or has any suggestion on how to prevent it?

    This has been previously reported and is just how Capture One behaves. Why is one of the imponderables of Capture One. The easiest way to deal with it is to click twice on "Pick All" at the bottom right of the import window. This will select all and then unselect them, leaving you with all images on the card unselected.

    Exactly what I have been doing for years... and still upon occasion forget to click "Pick All" twice which can be quite frustrating when the previous import comprised a large number of images. Argh.

    Extremely annoying!  Please fix this ! Having to use the pick all hack is rather annoying and does not work if you use a date filter on import! After a day of shoots I often have several jobs one the same card that need to be imported separately into their own folders, annoying that every time i import I have to deselect the previously imported images!

    Workaround: make a separate folder on card for each job and then import that exact folder when adding the job.

    And 'Pick all' doesn't appear if you have "Enable Groups" selected.   You then have to deselect Enable Groups and then double click on the Pick all.  Thanks for the tip - this is really annoying - at least there is a workaround now.  Its clunky.

    I have a similar, but slightly different problem. I import from a CFE card, and periodically erase it. On import, any picture from the last import, that was deleted in C1 is selected again. The new pictures (taken since the last import) are also not selected for import. 

    This happens on any of the C1 16.x version, and the last two MacOSs.

    Just moved over from Lightroom, and this was the first issue I had to deal with. Thanks for the tip on using the "Pick All". I'm using the same SD card multiple times before formatting, so I am using the Exclude Duplicates but could not figure out why I am ending up with the same previous selection being imported. Took a while to see Capture One remembers the previous selection.
