Can't find a source folder for importing

Hi.  I'm not sure this is monitored anymore.  There are a relatively few posts, but I'll try it. 

I have just started exploring C1 Express.  I have watched some tutorials, particularly for importing photos. Problem is,  when I go to MacHD>Users>User Name>Pictures Photos Library is greyed out.  I can drag and drop photos to the C1 icon in the dock but so far that's the only way I have found to add photos.  

Or, is importing a feature that isn't available on C1 Express?
