No export of images can be performed
Cannot export any images, is there a bug in the system on C1 Pro 23?
Can anyone help or give me guidance

I can't export anything, either. It doesn't give any error, and the "Export Completed" notification pops up, but there's no file. At one point, a file seemed to appear for a moment before immediately disappearing.
Clicking on the "Show" button on the notification brings me to the folder where it's supposed to be, but nada.

This is so disappointing, frustrating, etc. I have tried to contact the customer support but no reply as yet.

I did just realize that this is the first time I've used C1 since I upgraded to the Mac OS Sonoma beta, so maybe that's related.

The customer support have to address this or C! will go down. Not happy.

I tried revoking and restoring C1's file permissions; changed the output folder... no dice.

If this is not addressed, this will cost me ££££'s

Best to file a bug report or click on Request Support at the top right corner of this window. None of us users can debug Capture One, especially if it is being run on a beta version of MacOS. Meanwhile, run Capture One on a supported version of MacOS and see if that gets you back in business.

@Donkey Kong Thanks for your help

OK, I just figured out what my problem is. Not sure if it'll help anyone else, but here's what's happening:
When I export a file from Capture One, it is immediately turned into an invisible file. I don't know if this is being done by C1 or MacOS. I can see them if I use command-shift-period to view hidden files.
This is truly bizarre, and I don't know how to fix it, but at least it's something!

Same here after installing macOS Sonoma release candidate, with latest version of Capture One (16.2.5). Reported bug with Apple, will do the same with C1. Exporting to other folders than Desktop (Images, for example) work.

Yeah, I'm still having this issue with the latest OS and C1. Changing folders doesn't help me; I've tried various locations. I've had fakeouts where I thought it was working, but that's because it will intermittently work occasionally.

Joshua Cohen, it's not something to do with the naming of the files on export, is it? What does your export recipe do for naming?

Mériol Lehmann, Capture One doesn't yet say that it supports Sonoma. Did you still have the same problem before moving to Sonoma?

Hi Ian, it is a Sonoma bug. I know it's not supported yet, because it's in beta. But usually, Capture One are supporting new OS quite early. Since we're in RC phase with Sonoma, we can be pretty sure that this bug will be there when Sonoma will be released next week, unless there's a C1 update in the meantime. I'M not complaining, this is part of being a beta tester/early adopter and I've done this for years. But I just want people to know there's an issue currently with Sonoma. Bug report is also sent to C1 and Apple so they can check it out if they're not working on this yet.

Capture One do support new versions of an OS quite promptly (sometimes) but they always say that they can't release a version of Capture One to support a new version of MacOS before that MacOS version is final, because Apple can (and sometimes do) change something at the last minute.

Of course, that's the way it works with any developer.

Mériol Lehmann - yes, I agree, though it's surprising how often people have complained on here in the past that they don't like that and that Capture should release support based on the RC.

Regarding filenames, I don't do anything too creative with my recipes.
If I watch the output folder with hidden files showing during the export operation, I think I can see part of what's happening. Hidden files are part of the normal sequence of events: during the export, a preliminary file is created with a period prefix (which makes it hidden automatically). When Capture One finishes writing data to the file, the final step is removing the period, which should unhide the file.
It could be entirely a Sonoma glitch that's causing it to stay hidden, and no fault of C1 itself.
I wonder if a possible workaround would be to change that behavior, and forego the period during the export, leaving it all visible. It doesn't seem like something that would cause a problem, like how you can see partially downloaded files in the Downloads folder, etc.

Kindly see my fix/patch here
I know CaptureOne staff are ignoring the Sonoma beta or final for that matter. Meanwhile customers are upgrading and will not find their exported files.
The script on the link is a simple post-export fix, it resets the file flags. It is unrelated to the file name afaik. It kind of works, but would require a fix from CaptureOne I'm sure to prevent the need.

Have you seen the post in the Known Bugs section of the forum about this?

You mean this link: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/13942471961757-Mac-Files-exported-from-Capture-One-to-iCloud-become-hidden-in-macOS-Sonoma
I found after looking for it? I’ll monitor it but frankly get a better interaction by the resolver team than a vague reference to a different forum folder. I’ll remind the guys there is an other workaround other than pointing expert outside iCloud. I have not tried that yet however that thread seems to report hit and miss on that approach.

By the "resolver team" I assume you mean the Support team. You can contact them using the Request Support link at the top right of this page. Meanwhile this forum (including myself) are mainly your fellow users trying to be helpful. If you thought my suggestion was a vague reference, I am sorry, but I assumed you would be able to find it, and it seems that you did. If it doesn't help your situation, then contacting Support is the way to go.

I had.the same problem after upgrading to pro 23. I couldn’t find my exported photos in the folder I used to keep exported photos. Actually these exported photos became ghost files.
Use commands+shift+. combination, the ghost files will appear as “grey” files in that folder. Then I moved the grey files out of the folder to desktop on my Mac. They are still shown as grey files on desktop. Next move them back to that folder. Now they become normal files.
I found this way accidentally. I don’t know why it worked for me. But you can try it.0
