I'd fully expect that there are some geometric differences with the new CR body, and those come with new profiles needed for the software. I'm willing to accept this.

I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the complete lack of respect for the paid users from the C1 staff. A simple forum update and timeline would go real far here.

I would certainly take a "It's not just adding the model number, there are several aspects that have changed which require additional validation," as a reason if that was given. The issue is it hasn't been and, personally, I find this exceedingly frustrating from a company that makes professional software.

Capture One is the only professional-grade software I rely on that does not provide either a public roadmap or a timeline for planned feature support.

    Hello.

It seems to be possible to read the EXIF data by modifying it.
If you change the model name to ILCE-7RM5, it will be readable.
I use the EXIF TOOL GUI to batch process the data and then edit it.

It's been more than three months since it was released, but it's hard to understand that it's still not supported. Request an update as soon as soon as possible.

    Hi,

Like everybody here, I waited for C1 to DO something.

In the meantime, I tried RawTherapee: free, very powerful with little automation, requires more than some learning, very good results but not suited IMHO to more than a few files (time consuming).

So, I chose to revert to DXO, that I left for C1 some 10 years ago. My camera and all its lenses are fully recognized and the process is fully automated (less fun, much quicker). Moreover not so expensive as C1 so-called perpetual license (a really bad joke from C1).

I'll probably sign off this thread shortly (no need to suffer any longer ;-). So bye, bye C1!

So this is fun. C1 just emailed me that my annual subscription will be paid on the 15th of December. Guess there really is a timeline for them, at least in regards to me.

    Hi all,

We are working on adding support for the camera, however we are having problems sourcing the camera from Sony.

We are looking into feasible sourcing alternatives. Rest assured that we will support the camera both tethered and for file-support soon.

We're waiting on the a7C2 as well, which are in stock at BandH right now along with the a7CR

    Hi Christian,

thanks for the information. I understand that you are having an issue with obtaining the camera to provide a proper support.

Anyway, as you may have noticed from this thread as well as the thread regarding a7C ii, there are already many users unhappy, with the camera, without being able to use it in C1. Would it be possible to have a quick fix / workaround until the proper implementation is done? For example, call it BETA (just like you did with sensor dust removal in the past) — so everybody is aware this is not the final proper version; but apply A7iv profile to pictures from A7C ii, and A7R5 profile to pictures from A7RC. They are the same sensors and people claim here, that if they just replace the EXIF information, then it is working for them.

I believe such a workaround could possibly calm down the situation.

christian, thank you for an answer…now it makes sense…you have no camera. Sony has not provided you one. Please comment on the status of your relationship with Sony. If it has deteriorated to this situation I will cancel my subscription and move to LR now. As will many many others I’d guess…in fact if this is how your CEO runs the company I plan to end my relationship with Capture One. I am fed up! Anyone else?

I feel like at this point we should get a refund on a month of our subscription. Capture One has been literally been unusable for me this past month. I have thousands of photos waiting to be culled and processed.

I want our voice to reach those concerned in C1. It seems that they live in another parallel world. We are all asking when the camera will be supported so that I can make a decision whether to keep C1 or throw it in the trash.

“We are working on adding support for the camera, however we are having problems sourcing the camera from Sony.” LOL!! It’s available everywhere! B&H have same day shipping.

@... - whether B and H ship them to Denmark, I have no idea. I certainly know from frustrating personal experience that cameras and lenses (Nikons in my case) that are available in the USA can sometimes take several months to become available in Europe.

Having said that, a quick check online of retailers in the UK, where I am, shows that some of them have fairly limited numbers available. (My favourite retailer has 14 branches around the country, and only one, their head office branch, which is not near me, has any stock. The other 13 have none.)

If I didn't live on the west coast of the US I'd volunteer mine if they agreed to cover shipping, haha!

I get that sometimes this stuff is complicated. My day job is as a software engineer and I understand how we can care a lot about validating a solution rather than pushing out any fix and hoping for the best, especially for professional grade softare.

The lesson I hope C1 takes from this is users do not like silence and communication goes a long way to easing frustration.

Pro-tip for the C1 peeps: Sony ships cameras bought directly from them before they send any out to other retailers. Fastest way to get one is from Sony. If I'd waited for Amazon, for example, I would be getting mine in another week (per original estimation).

B&H does ship to Denmark. Besides, even if they didn't, it's ridiculous for a company like CO to blame it on that they can't get a hold of a camera body.

Thank you for the update. I'd like to understand further:

C1 has been unable to get ahold of an A7CR, and an A7Cii worldwide after 2 months?

We are working on adding support for the camera, however we are having problems sourcing the camera from Sony???

It‘s a one day trip to and back from Germany to pick up the camera in Hamburg.

I ordered the camera from a large online retailer 2 weeks ago and it was at my home within four days, no problem because it's now in stock almost everywhere - why does this all sound like an excuse to me??? But above all it is a slap in the face to those who promote the software every month with their contributions and who may also need it for professional reasons.

DxO doesn't support the camera yet either, and it's already taking (too) long.At the moment there still seem to be technical problems, otherwise the support would already be established.Luminar Neo and Affinty Photo already offer support.

Today I made the mistake of getting a 30-day trial subscription. If it had worked, I would have considered possibly downgrading from CP One 22. But as.....

Now I'll wait and see what happens on Black Friday, in the worst case scenario maybe a subscription to Adobe.

Hi, Arthur Sakurai, thank you very much: installed the exif pilot GUI and it works. Of course we shouldn't need to do the detour... Btw, there was also a fix for the Pentax 645D. Anybody remembers? Please help. thank you.

I ordered the camera and received it about a month ago. Finally got to use it and didn't really expect to have issues given it's been more than six weeks since the camera has been out.

Must confess I have been VERY surprised to see C1 still doesn't yet support this camera.

Is there an ETA? I don't expect supply to improve as we get closer to Xmas. Surely C1 has a line with Sony directly?

See my comment here for somewhat of an update: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/13218923431709-Sony-%CE%B17cII

We will have both the a7 CR and the a7c II in our hands soon. We will begin working on implementing support as a high priority.

I will provide updates as and when I can.

This is great news. Hopefully it is a simple upgrade of software, and not a new purchase for those of us who bought C1 in the last month.

Well, unfortunately that's the problem. Basically, I was interested in renewing my permanent license and might have taken advantage of the Black Friday deal.

But to load the app now and take the risk that there will be no update for permanent license holders - the risk is then too high.

Nobody knows, there are only declarations of intent, but no concrete timelines. For me, however, the matter is over and I have put my trust in the competition because CP does not deserve to continue supporting them

We're glad to announce that Sony a7CR will be supported in the next release we're expecting to go live within several days. We'll update this thread accordingly when the new version becomes available for download. Thank you all for your input and patience.

Thanks, but too late. Now two days after Black Friday ends, I certainly won't pay the full price for an update.
