Catalogs don't know each other, so you can only search/filter/define smart albums which oversee the images in that specific catalog you have opened.

Maybe there is another way to organize your images, what is the reason you have so many small catalogs?

Thanks a lot for the reply. Yes, that is exactly what I am going to do - organize my images in a different way. I am not a proffesional, I have some 5k images, they are not organized whastsoever, I have one catalogue, (ten catalogues was just a hypothetical situation) and I am just trying to find a way to organize them. Folders 2023, 2022 ... sounds a bit old fashined, but I will have all my images in one catalogue, once I want all images from Spain, I will filter them ALL. Thanks a lot again.

If you ask me that's a good way, old fashioned but still used means it is a proven and still viable method, and very likely will be in the future.

I do something around those lines:

    2023
      2023-09-05 Event x
      2023-12 Snowboarding vacation Alps

anything which sorts in the correct date order and shows me what is in the folders on a high-level. More subfolders are also possible, depending on how many images I have and either want to store separately in folders directly beneath the year or in sub folders beneath an event.
