Getting the new subscription
I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this, but here goes.
I've been using C1 for about a decade now, with the non-subscription plan. I'm being forced into the subscription model along with every one else, I suppose. I have the lovely old boys 40% discount ready to go but my concerns are these: Capture One's major revisions used to come out in the early part of December, and the update always had major improvements and features. C1 says that the rental C1/24 (and onward) will have a rolling set of improvements throughout the year. Let's say that I pay for the new subscription in September of 2023 and C1 doesn't "roll out" those major improvements until February. I'd like to know why it would make sense to pay - right now - and potentially get no major improvement to C1/23 for six months (or whatever)? I'll pay for the subscription - I don't have much choice - but I want to delay payment until C1 shows me something worth buying. I just don't want to pay in advance for six months of a subscription that isn't an improvement on C1/23.
So has C1 committed to making big improvements this fall, and when are they arriving? Until then I think that I'll keep my money in my pocket.

Why don't you just stay with your perpetual license?

I have no doubt that there will be improvements to C1 2024, and I will want them. My plan is to wait until those improvements are introduced then and then get a year's subscription then.

You are not forced into subscription, but if you prefer switching to permanent payment you can switch to subscription once the improvements you expect are there.
Note that if you switch to a subscription plan you will loose the right to use your current C1 version based on the perpetual license, it will invalidate that license you already own. (unless they changed that policy without me noticing it).

We still offer perpetual licenses and have no plans to get rid of them, so you are well within your rights to stay with your perpetual license. As a current license holder you may also be entitled to a discount as part of the loyalty program: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/8824180384285-The-Capture-One-Loyalty-Program
If you always want the latest features and camera support, then a subscription is a better option.

I'm Beta testing updates that will be coming. I can tell, you gone love!
As I'm on perpetual, I'm struggling myself if I want to keep on perpetual or move towards subscription. I have not found the possibility to subscribe for live solely and keep C1 as perpetual. So if I want to use live for more then 24hrs, I have no choose to go for the all in one. Even if I'll never use the mobile.

I moved to the subscription today, because I got email it is last day of the discount. But the experience was a mess. A week ago I got email with 50% discount code. I tried it, but decided to wait. Today there is 30% discount only, but when I entered the code nothing happend, the subscription price (Pro, one year) was still the same. Fortunately the web browser still remembers the other code from last week and it worked.
