Option to add the capturing mobile device's GPS data, to the captured RAW's location metadata
LoggedWhich device are you using?
iPhone mini 13, iPad mini 5
What problem do you see this solving?
For cameras with no built-in GPS, this would allow GPS data to be automatically included in the captured photo's metadata.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
This is kind of a weird question. Maybe - How often do I need it, and how critical is this? Not very often, and not super critical - but it's definitely it's a 'nice to have', and would convert a lot of people that own external GPS trackers to your software.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals?
Use an external GPS tracker and merge it in manually.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Yes.

Hello Dave Blake and thanks for the feedback. We are tracking this idea with the team but we have not added to our plan yet. We will investigate how easy it is to add it to the app and will get back to you. Could you share a few words about you and your workflow? What type of photography are you into? What kind of cameras do you use?
Thanks!
Evi

I'm a full-time agency rep'd fashion and beauty photographer based in New York. In my time off I like to shoot on the street with a lightweight, minimal setup. For this, I shoot with a Nikon DF and manual focus 28mm lens. After I've taken pictures on the street, I will go to a cafe and process them on CaptureOne mobile (my iPad mini or iPhone - it works great). But it would be great to be able to tether to my iPhone while I am shooting, which would then also mark the GPS data for each picture taken. This would be helpful so that I can go back to my pictures and remember where they were.

Hi Evi and thanks for asking! During a day photographing I will often be walking a city shooting some street and som casual snaps. The camera is wirelessly connected to CO app. Often I will then go for a coffee and do a quick edit. The GPS coordinates for each photo should then be linked to it. Otherwise this has to be done in two different apps. No real worry but it would be easier! Thanks for considering this!
