Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III Lens Profile
What problem do you see this solving?
While RAW files from the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III are supported (and have been since Capture One 20), Capture One lacks a lens profile for the built in lens of this camera. The lens of the previous generation G7 X Mark II does have a Capture One profile, but the current generation camera's lens is different. This is a compact camera zoom lens that has severe/extreme distortion at wider angles by design, and the distortion vastly changes depending on the current focal length setting. Thus, a single correction cannot be applied, the correction needs to be different for every focal length setting. Right now, I have to manually try to eyeball different lens corrections for every single photo I take depending on the focal length setting, which is extremely tedious and frustrating.
This camera has been in production for many years, it is the best selling model of the PowerShot line, and is one of the most popular compact cameras for advanced amateurs.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Every time I deal with images from this camera of mine, I have to manually set corrections specific to each photo's focal length. This makes using this "supported" camera with Capture One very frustrating.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
I previously emailed support about this, and was just told to make a custom lens profile for this. The problem is that I need to use vastly different correction factors depending on the focal length of the particular shot, and I can't make a custom lens profile with variable corrections dependent on focal length. I could make say 15 or 20 different lens profiles reasonable for different ranges of focal lengths, and manually assign a correction profile depending on the focal length I see in EXIF data, but that would still be horribly inconvenient.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?

Thank you for your feedback. We value your input and strive to be transparent about known bugs and future camera support. However, we are not quite there yet for lens support.
Our goal is to support as many lenses as possible, and we use in-app data to determine which are in high demand. Even if your lens does not have a dedicated profile designed by our engineers, you can still achieve great results using Capture One’s powerful lens correction tools with a Generic or Manufacturer profile: Working with an unlisted lens profile.
Since this is not currently considered a feature request, I will move this post to the Gear Talk topic.

Thanks for your response. Because this lens has vastly different distortion at different zoom levels, I need to manually make different corrections for each focal length. I can’t just manually make a single lens profile because of this.
Since this is the built-in (and thus only) lens for this decently popular camera that you do support, I think you should prioritize adding support for this lens.
Is there any way I can help you make a profile? For example taking pictures of a test pattern at various focal lengths at a certain distance? Or can I pay you to add support for this lens?
